Tuvalu 2010 $1 Great Composers Robert Schumann 1810-1856 1oz Silver Proof Coin

Schumann began his musical education at the age of six, learning the piano. As a young man he studied the piano seriously with the celebrated teacher, Friedrich Wieck, but an injury to his right hand ended any hope of becoming a virtuoso. The coin’s reverse depicts a representation of Robert Schumann, a treble clef and music notes. As well as The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the design includes the inscription ‘Robert Schumann 1810 – 1856’.
