ROMAN REPUBLIC, L. Memmius, as Triumvir Monetalis (moneyer), Silver Denarius (3.90g, 20mm), Rome mint 109-108 BC. Obv. Youthful male head (Apollo?) right, wearing oak wreath, "X-" monogram (mark of value) to lower right. Rev. The Dioscuri, Castor and Pollux, stand facing by their horses, each draped and holding spear, "L· MEMMI" in exergue. Crawford 304/1; Sydenham 558.
