ROMAN REPUBLIC, IMPERATORIAL PERIOD, L. Mussidius T.f. Longus, as Triumvir Monetalis (moneyer), Silver Denarius (3.55g, 17mm), Rome mint 42 BC. Obv. Diademed and veiled head of Concordia right, "CONCORDIA" surrounds left. Rev. Shrine of Venus Cloacina: Circular platform surmounted by two statues of the goddess, each resting hand on cippus, the platform inscribed "CLOACIN" and ornamented with trellis-pattern balustrade, flight of steps and portico on left, "L· MVSSIDIVS· LONGVS" surrounds above. Crawford 494/42a; Sydenham 1093. Slightly porous surfaces, losing a few devices due to the oval flan, toned, Very Fine / good Very Fine.
