ROMAN IMPERIAL, SEVERAN, Caracalla (as Augustus 198-217 AD), Silver Denarius (3.20g, 17mm), 'Vota Soluta Decennalia' ('Vows Paid for Ten Year Anniversary') commemorative issue, Rome mint 208 AD. Obv. Laureate head right, with adolescent features, "ANTONINVS PIVS AVG". Rev. Caracalla stands left sacrificing over altar, "VOTA SOLVT DEC COS III". RIC 204; RSC 682. An interesting reverse type stating his vows are paid rather then simply vowing for his future anniversary, cleaned in the past, good Fine to near Very Fine.
