Queen Elizabeth II Tribute Medallion

The reverse features a portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II at her coronation in the Robe of Estate, holding the Orb and Scepter. The obverse is just as beautifully detailed and beset with symbolic meaning - the lion and the unicorn, heraldic symbols of the United Kingdom, as well as the rose of England, thistle of Scotland, leek of Wales and shamrock of Ireland all feature. The words ‘A life of service and devotion’, reference the oath made during her 21st birthday speech in 1947 that, “my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong”. A promise that has now been fulfilled!
