NZ 2021 $1 Tūī 1oz Silver Coloured Proof Coin

Tūī are familiar to most New Zealanders, populating forests and suburbia throughout the country. The coins in this series will be united by a specially designed kaitiaki – guardian – that sits at the bese of each coin. The kaitiaki acts not only as a unifying feature that acknowledges Māori tangate whenua (the people of the land), but as a minder or caregiver, protecting the taonga (treasure) encapsulated by the coin.
