NZ 2014 $1 HMS Achilles 1oz Silver Proof Coin

The HMS Achilles was built in England in the early 1930s as Royal Navy ship and completed in 1933. Three years later it was commissioned into the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy. This coin depicts the HMS Achilles returning home to a hero’s welcome in Auckland and features the HMS Achilles official badge. The obverse features the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley.
