Cook Islands 2006 $1 Fire Engines of The World - Russia 1oz Silver Coin

The Ukrainian-built AA-60, introduced in the Soviet Union in 1973, was designed to fight fires on aircraft and inside airfield buildings. Equipped with an 11,000 or 12,000 litre water tank and a 900 litre reservoir for foam, it featured a specially designed 60hp pump. The AA-60 was replaced in 1982 by the AA-70. This AA-60 Airfield Fire Engine coin, struck by The Perth Mint, is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of the Cook Islands.
