The Western honey bee, armed with specially adapted hairs that form saddlebags on their hindlegs, are among the most efficient pollinators on Earth. The coin portrays a coloured pair of worker bees, resting on the petals of a striking pink daisy flower with a yellow centre. The background incorporates illustrations of additional honey bees, busily collecting nectar from sheets of honeycomb and blooming flowers. As well as a ribbon scroll with the inscription ‘HONEY BEE’.
