2024 $1 Australian Emu 1oz Silver Coloured Coin

Found only in Australia, the emu is the world’s second largest bird. With wings that are too small for it to fly, the six-foot creature is equipped with long and powerful legs, enabling it to sprint at speeds of nearly 50km per hour across the outback plains. This coloured coin’s reverse portrays an adult emu and three chicks in an arid outback setting. The inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN EMU’ appears within the design, which also includes the coin’s weight, purity and 2024 year-date, and a ‘P125’ mintmark signifying The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary.
