2022 $1 Wallal Centenary Australia Tests Einstein’s Theory PNC

In 1915, Albert Einstein proposed his General Theory of Relativity, which suggested that gravity is not a "force" but a bend in the space-time continuum. A total solar eclipse observable from Australia on 21 September 1922 provided scientists with an opportunity to show that the positions of stars shift due to the Sun's gravity, to put existing proof of the theory beyond doubt. The measurement from photographs of more than 100 stars, taken at Wallal using the Lick Observatory's coronagraph, provided indisputable proof that Einstein's theory was correct.
