2022 $1 Crux The Southern Cross PNC

Crux, Latin word for “cross”, is a constellation of the southern sky. Commonly known as the Southern Cross, the constellation is centred on four bright stars forming the shape of a cross, together with a fifth, faint star that is usually included with Crux. In the Northern Hemisphere the constellation is visible to people living close enough to the equator. Crux’s two brightest stars, Alpha and Beta, are the first and second letters of the Greek alphabet. Alpha is the brightest star and is the base of the cross. The next brightest star, Beta, is the left arm.
