2021 50c Operation Overload 50th Anniversary of The Battle of Long Khanh Uncirculated Coin

In one of the most intense actions of the latter stage of Australian involvement in Vietnam, soldiers of the 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, supported by Centurion tanks of C Squadron 1 Armoured Regiment, assaulted a concealed bunker complex in South Vietnam’s Long Khan Province. The most significant fighting took place on 7 June, 1971, with 5 Platoon B Company 3RAR isolated by fire from enemy positions as close as 15 metres. This became known as The Battle of Long Khanh.
