2021 $1 Dreaming Down Under Wombat PNC

Australia is home to three species of wombat: Common Wombat (Vombatus ursinus), Northern Hairy-nosed Wombat (Lasiorhinus kreffti) and Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat (Lasiorhinus kreffti). While not exactly common, the bare-nosed species can be found in diverse habitats in south-eastern Australia, including Tasmania, while the two hairy-nosed species are rarely encountered; the northern is considered critically endangered and the southern near threatened.
