In 2020, one of Australia’s greatest railway journeys, the Indian Pacific, celebrated its 50th anniversary. A true transcontinental rail experience, the Indian Pacific crosses the continent from east to west and return, travelling between Sydney and Perth, via Adelaide, along its four-day, 4,352 km journey each way. It passes through some of Australia’s most beautiful and varied landscapes - from the spectacular Blue Mountains of New South Wales to the broad desert plains of the Nullarbor, and the fertile rolling hills of the Avon Valley in Western Australia.
