2018 50c 50th Anniversary of The Battle of Coral and Balmoral Uncirculated Coin

Throughout May and June 1968, Australian troops fought their largest and most sustained engagement of the Vietnam War. In a succession of actions that occurred over four weeks in what was then part of Bien Hoa Province, units of the 1st Australian Task Force confronted regimental-sized forces of the North Vietnamese Regular Army that made repeated assaults against Fire Support Bases Coral and Balmoral. All attacks were repelled at great cost to the enemy, although 25 Australians died in the fighting and over 100 were wounded.
