The stamp on this cover features the memorial statue Widow and Children. Located in the Legacy Garden of Appreciation, alongside the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne, it is a memorial to those who have served in conflicts and those who bear the scars at home. Legacy is a voluntary organisation supported by veterans, service personnel and volunteers, providing services to families of veterans who have died or been incapacitated by their military service. Legacy's origins can be traced to WWI and to a soldier's promise to a dying mate to look after his family.
