2017 $8 150th Anniversary of Henry Lawson 5oz Silver Coloured Proof Coin

Henry Lawson (1867 - 1922) was an Australian writer and poet born near the gold mining centre of Grenfell, New South Wales, on 17 June 1867. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest poetry and short-story writers of the colonial period. The reverse of the coin features the profile of Henry Lawson’s face composed of a number of character and settings from his poems and short stories. The design includes the inscription 150th ANNIVERSARY OF HENRY LAWSON, and The Perth Mint's traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
