2017 $2 Remembrance Day PNC

The fragrant evergreen herb Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) has long been associated with remembrance, and a sprig placed on a grave indicates that memories of the deceased will never fade. Rosemary grows naturally around the Mediterranean and Aegean, including the Gallipoli Peninsula, which is why it holds great significance for Australians. A sprig of rosemary is often worn on Anzac Day and Remembrance Day to commemorate those who fought and those who perished in the Great War of 1914-18.
