2016 20c Queen Elizabeth II 90th Birthday Machin Portrait PNC

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 90th birthday in 2016. The effigy on the 20c coin featured in this special postal and numismatic cover was designed by Arnold Machin and features the Queen in her 30s, which was very early on in her reign. It was on 6 February 1952 that a young Princess Elizabeth became Queen, following the sudden death of her father, King George VI. The coronation was held on 2 June 1953 in Westminster Abbey.
