2016 $10 Australia's First Mints 'C' Mintmark 1/10oz Gold Proof Coin

After the 19th Century gold rushes empowered Australian life, coins were produced unofficially at the Adelaide Assay Office and officially at Royal Mint branches in Sydney (1855), Melbourne (1872) and Perth (1899). Coins were often linked to their mint of origin by single-letter mintmarks, a tradition which is upheld on this piece. The coin features design elements of the Sydney Mint One Sovereign with the Royal Australian Mint ‘C’ Mintmark.
