2016 $1 Remembrance PNC

At 11am on November 11 each year, a minute’s silence is observed to commemorate our war dead. This commemorative day - originally known as Armistice Day - falls on the anniversary of the guns falling silent across the battlefields of World War I. Armistice Day was renamed in the wake of World War II to honour yet another generation of war dead. The stamp on this limited-edition postal and numismatic cover depicts Australian troops returning to their billets from the frontline.
