2016 $1 Remembrance Day Limited Edition PNC

2016 marks 98 years since cessation of hostilities on the Western Front, at 11am on 11 November 1918, signalling an end to World War I. Originally called Armistice Day, Remembrance Day, is now commemorated in Australia and other Commonwealth nations every year at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. The red poppy, which bloomed on the Flanders battlefields of World War I, is worn to remember the fallen, and a minute's silence is observed in honour of those who died or suffered not only during World War I, but in all wars and armed conflicts.
