2016 $1 Australian Posters of World War I War Bonds 1oz Silver Coloured Proof Rectangle Shaped Coin

In 1915, realising increased funds would be necessary to resource the war campaign, the Australian government decided to raise loans from the public, encouraging the population to purchase War Loan Bonds, which would be repaid with interest, to contribute to the war effort. The coin's reverse features a coloured representation of the World War I “Our daddy is fighting” poster, headed by the inscription “Australian War Bonds”. The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark also appears in the design.
