2015 50c Silver Proof Coin

Australia’s unique native animals found a new home when Stuart Devlin’s wildlife designs were chosen to adorn the nation’s decimal currency in 1966. The designer chose to depict the national Coat of Arms, granted official status by King George V in 1912, on the reverse of the 50c coin. The Coat of Arms features a shield decorated with six state symbols, flanked proudly by the Australian national animal and bird emblems - the Kangaroo and Emu, presided over by a seven-pointed Commonwealth Star.
