Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was born Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary on 21 April1926, the eldest daughter of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. She ascended the throne at the age of 25 upon the death of her father on 6 February 1952. The coin’s reverse depicts the Royal Cypher of Queen Elizabeth II surmounted by St Edward’s Crown. The inscription H.M. QUEEN ELIZABETH II LONGEST REIGNING MONARCH and The Perth Mint's ‘P’ mintmark are also included in the design.
