2015 $1 Sunburnt Country Kangaroo 1oz Silver Proof Rectangle Shaped Coin

Dorothea Mackellar’s My Country is one of Australia’s most widely recited and beloved poems. Reflective of the author’s great love of the Australian landscape. The coin’s reverse depicts a colour image of an Australian plain with two kangaroos grazing amongst the wildflowers, with a homestead in the background. The design includes the inscription I LOVE A SUNBURNT COUNTRY…A LAND OF SWEEPING PLAINS and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is featured on the coin’s obverse.
