2014 $1 70th Anniversary of G for George Uncirculated Coin

On display in ANZAC Hall at the Australian War Memorial is “G for George”, an Avro Lancaster heavy bomber that flew 90 missions over Nazi-occupied territory during the Second World War. Crewed mainly by Australians, George embodies the service and sacrifice of over 10,000 Australian airmen who flew operations in RAF Bomber Command.
