2013 Bicentenary of The Holey Dollar & Dump Silver Proof 3 Coin Set

To celebrate the bicentenary of Australia's first official currency, the Holey Dollar and Dump, the Royal Australian Mint has collaborated with the Real Casa de la Moneda (Spanish Mint) to create this exceptional set. This collection includes a 10 euro coin, $1 coin and 25 cent coin and pays tribute to an important part of Australian history and the first symbol of Australia's economic maturity. The commemorative 10 euro coin features a reproduction of an obverse design of the eight reales coins imported by Governor Macquarie in 1813. This coin is the first ever to bear a unique "C" privy mark, echoing the Royal Australian Mint's Canberra mintmark which highlights the significance of this international partnership and monetary milestone. The reverse designs of the accompanying $1 and 25 cent coins are reminiscent of the original Holey Dollars and Dumps, which have become rare and valuable.
