2013 $1 Australian Opal The Kangaroo 1oz Silver Proof Coin

The kangaroo can be found throughout mainland Australia. Different kangaroo species live in a variety of habitats. The coin’s reverse incorporates an inner panel design of a kangaroo detailed in pure Australian opal. The outer panel of the coin depicts the Sturt’s Desert Pea and blossoms, a first quarter moon and the Southern Cross - a renowned star group which is only visible in the Southern hemisphere.
