The third crossing of Adelaide’s Port River is a single-leaf bascule bridge and was opened in August 2008. Known as the Lt Tom ‘Diver’ Derrick VC DCM Bridge, it is named after World War II Victoria Cross recipient, Tom ‘Diver’ Derrick. This coin has been specifically created by the Royal Australian Mint for the Adelaide ANDA Show. The reverse features the ‘Diver’ Derrick VC Bridge in Adelaide.
