2011 $1 Air Series Sacred Kingfisher Coloured Uncirculated Coin

Sacred Kingfisher’s are a medium-sized kingfisher with beautiful blue back and tail feathers, cream belly and black face markings. They can be found throughout Australia in paperbark, eucalypt and melaleuca forests, mangroves and woodlands. The kingfisher is honoured annually at a festival in Victoria which celebrates the return of the species to a community environment park which was a rubbish tip.
