2011 $1 Air Series Cairns Birdwing Butterfly Coloured Uncirculated Coin

The Cairns Birdwing Butterfly has bright yellow and red bodies with wings mostly black with white (female) or green (male) splashes. They live in the tropical rainforests of northeastern Australia. One of its favourite native plants, called the ‘Dutchman's Pipe’, is closely related to another introduced rainforest vine that is poisonous to the butterfly.
