2010 $1 Shanghai World Expo Panda & Koala 1oz Silver Coin

Taking place between 1 May and 31 October, the Shanghai World Expo 2010 is the largest expo the world has ever seen. Symbolising Australia’s friendship and business ties with the host country, China, the coin’s reverse portrays a koala and a panda on a coloured background depicting a forest. Authorised by the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the coin’s design also includes the Australian pavilion logo in colour and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. The coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
