2009 International Year of Astronomy Uncirculated 2 Coin Set

2009 is the International Year of Astronomy, a worldwide celebration of the night sky. The event aims to highlight achievements by both professional and amateur astronomers since Galileo Galilei first turned his telescope to the night sky 400 years ago. To mark the occasion, this two coin Uncirculated Set consists of a 20c coin and a unique $1 coin specially designed by designer Caitlin Goodall, which features an image of the Parkes radio telescope in NSW, a familiar symbol of Australia’s role in international astronomy.
