2008 $1 Dreaming Turtle 1oz Silver Rectangle Shaped Coin

The Australian Indigenous art portrayed on the coin’s reverse represents the knowledge of the buyungura hunter. Created by Darryl Bellotti, an Indigenous artist of both Yamatji and Nyoongar descent, its dots represent the hunter’s footprints along the path; the ringed-circles symbolise the locations where he stops to hunt turtles.
