2008 $1 Australian Olympic Team 1oz Silver Proof Coin

On 8 August 2008, the world’s best sportsmen and women converge on the Chinese capital for the Games of the XXX Olympiad. Approved by the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC), the coin’s reverse design depicts the official Olympic ‘Flag and Rings’ logo in colour. Above the logo, a stylised athlete is intertwined with an image of a traditional Chinese dragon. As well as The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the inscription AUSTRALIAN OLYMPIC TEAM 8-8-08 also appears on the reverse.
