2006 50c The Queen's 80th Birthday PNC

The year 2006 marks the 80th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II and the 50th anniversary of the unveiling of Pietro Annigoni’s (1910-1988) portrait of Her Majesty. The stamps feature this painting and a photographic portrait by Cecil Beaton (1904-1980), one of the most celebrated British photographers of the 20th century. In both portraits the Queen is wearing the regalia of the Order of the Carter.
