2005 $1 Australian Antarctic Territory Leopard Seal 1oz Silver Coloured Proof Coin

Leopard Seals occur exclusively in the Southern Hemisphere, generally inhabiting pack-ice surrounding the Antarctic continent. The coin's reverse depicts a coloured image of a Leopard Seal (Hydrurga leptonyx) and its pup, which appear within the outline of Antarctica. As well as the inscription ‘LEOPARD SEAL: 2005’, the reverse includes the words ‘Australian Antarctic Territory’ and the Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
