2003 $1 Kangaroo 1oz Silver Uncirculated Coin

The design featured on this coin is taken from a sketch by aboriginal artist, Ray Thomas. Ray comes from the Gunna people of the Gippsland area in the state of Victoria. He has spent years researching his people’s myths, legends, designs and body marks in archives and other keeping places. Ray’s work combines a contemporary sensibility with an awareness of traditional Gunnai designs and motifs. Faithfully sculpted this coin celebrates Australia’s best-known animal.
