This coin is a Crown sized pure silver proof coin designed as an affordable memento of the XVII Commonwealth Games being held in Manchester, England between 25 July and 4 August 2002. The reverse depicts five athletes with arms raised triumphantly to form the shape of a crown. This coin is dedicated to the Commonwealth Games and honours Australia’s athletes, as well as other competitors participating in the 2002 Games.
