The design featured on this coin is from a painting by Aboriginal artist Jeanette Timbery. Jeanette belongs to the Bidjigal Tribe and was born and grew up in La Perouse, New South Wales. She spent her childhood assisting her father paint, but over the years has developed a style that is her own.
