The Australia Post Australian Legends Award marks Australia Day by honouring living Australians who have made an enormous impact on the way Australians think about themselves and their country. The 2000 Australian Legends Award honours the last surviving Australian Anzacs who are representative of all the men whose feats at Gallipoli, form the basis for the nation's self-image. The term Anzac stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.
