As part of its support for Australia Day, Australia Post has instituted the Australian Legends Award. Each year one award will be made to honour a prominent Australian who, over a lifetime of achievement in his or her particular field of endeavour, has made an outstanding contribution to the Australian identity and heritage, The award will be made to persons who have become in their own lifetime an Australian Legend. To honour the first Australian Legend, Sir Donald Bradman, Australia Post has produced this postal numismatic cover for Australian collectors.
