Water quality is one of the world’s most important environmental issues and this is especially true of our sunburnt country, Australia. No longer is the issue one of supplying adequate water to meet our needs. It is a battle against such problems as algal bloom, salinity, pollution and generations of ignorance. To raise awareness, the Royal Australian Mint, Landcare Australia and BBC Hardware have combined to raise funds for a national water quality program-the Landcare “Clean Rivers” project, which will focus on the cleaning, maintenance and protection of our waterways
