1992 Mint Set

No other sporting event captures the world’s attention like The Olympic Games. Australia is one of only three countries to have competed at all modern Olympic Games. Now, on the occasion of the XXV Olympiad the Royal Australian Mint has struck a commemorative $1 Olympic Coin which takes pride of place in our 1992 Proof Coin Set. 1992 is also significant to collectors, in that it marks the first year of production of a new configuration six coin Uncirculated Set, doing away from the previous eight coin set, given Australia’s decision to cease production last year of its 1c and 2c coins.
