2021 $1 Australian Penny Copper Uncirculated Coin

Australia’s first penny was introduced in 1911. The obverse featured an effigy of King George V designed by Sir E.B Mackennal while the reverse design, originally created by WHJ Blakemore, featured simple text. This version of the penny was minted between 1911 and 1936 in England, India and Australia. This coin marks the 110th anniversary of the introduction of the original penny to Australia’s currency. The reverse features an adaptation of Blakemore’s design, and the obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II designed by Mary Gillick.
