2013 50c 100 Years of Commonwealth Stamps Uncirculated Coin

Australia’s first national stamp issue had a troubled beginning. A decade after the federation of Australia’s six colonies, the Postmaster-General’s Department sought designs to grace the new nation’s first stamps, which would in time replace Australia’s colonial/state stamp issues. After more than a year of submissions and political debate, the Kangaroo and Map postage stamps were finally released in 1913.
