The Australian $2 note was designed by Gordon Andrews and developed for production by artists and engravers at the Note Printing Branch of the Reserve Bank of Australia. The note was issued in February 1966 when Australia adopted its present decimal currency system: the $2 note replaced the £1 note in the previous system.
Front - A portrait of John Macarthur and a portrayal of the wool industry.
Back - William Farrer is portrayed with reproductions of different varieties of wheat.
