Australian $5 silver coin acknowledging the centenary of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 which established the peace after the First World War. Australian Prime Minister Billy Hughes was one of the signatories of the treaty, marking the first time that Australian officials had participated in the negotiation of an international treaty. As a result of the Treaty of Versailles, Australia took its place as an international diplomatic nation.
